Food

My favourite places to eat in the cities I've lived in.

San Francisco Bay Area

Silver House. Chinese seafood restaurant in San Mateo.
Mochica. Best Peruvian food in San Francisco. You have to get the ceviche Mochica.
Joy Restaurant. Hole in the wall Taiwanese restaurant that people come far and wide for.
Maru Ichi. Best ramen ever! Worth the drive to Mountain View.
Hukilau. Hawaiian food in the foggy Richmond district.
House of Prime Rib. Get the regular sized prime rib so you can get a free second helping.
Broadway Prime. House of Prime Rib copycat in Burlingame and almost as delicious.

Vancouver

Guu with Garlic. My favourite restaurant in the world. Izakaya aka Japanese pub food (tapas)
Mui Garden. Best brisket curry.
Fuji Sushi. Small place in Coquitlam with really fresh sushi.
Shabusen. Can't beat $23 for all you can eat made to order sushi and Korean BBQ.
#9. Craving for HK style food, congee, or BBQ duck at 4am? Go here.
Hapa Izakaya. Pricier and fancier than Guu and almost as good.
Rodney's Oyster House. Go at happy hour for dollar oysters.

Seattle

Fu Man Dumpling House. Good dumplings in Phinney Ridge, kind of garlicky though.
Honey Hole. Really tasty sandwiches. Fries here are awesome.
Kozue. One of the few good sushi places around here.
Coastal Kitchen. Great brunch.
22 Doors. Only been here once but it was good.
Rocking Wok. Impossible to find this place but worth it if you like Taiwanese food.
Ivars. Get the half dozen oyster shooters for $4.95 at happy hour. Sliders are good too.
McCormick and Schmicks. Great happy hour. Get the salmon burger.
